trlyr 8

20 MW, 41 MWh (2 hours) in Visbek, Niedersachsen, registered as operating since 18 May 2026. Everything on this page is read from Germany’s register of power units and the other published records named beside each fact.

What it is

The register holds this battery as one unit.

UnitRegister numberMWMWhCommissionedBatteryGrid operator check
trlyr 8SEE999239610039204118 May 2026Lithiumunder check

Power is the net power the operator registered, the most the unit may feed into the grid. Energy is the usable capacity of the unit’s installation. A grid operator check marked “checked” means the grid company has confirmed the entry; “under check” means it has not yet. On the large sites we compared, the register’s commissioning date often came months before the owner’s announced start, which suggests it records first energisation.

Who runs it and who owns it

Owner. terralayr AG, Zug; venture backed, with Eurazeo leading its January 2026 round; no controlling owner published, through terralayr batteries Ten Holdco GmbH, Berlin (Amtsgericht Charlottenburg HRB 273628 B), amount 100 euros (sole limited partner). Confirmed in the commercial register. Evidence: Current printout (AD) of the Handelsregister entry, retrieved 11 October 2026; last entry 18 September 2025. Checked 11 October 2026. Every battery of this family.

The register names the operator, the company that runs the unit. The owner behind it comes from the commercial register (Handelsregister) or the owner’s own publication, as marked. The register number is the one the operator typed in; on 11 October 2026 we found it wrong or missing for 26 of the companies we looked up.

Who trades it and what it is built from

Also publishedInferred: a separate Terra One project (15 MW / 30 MWh, built by be.storaged, start of operation planned by end of 2026) is under construction in Visbek; its size and owner differ from the trlyr 8 unit, so it is a different project and should not be merged our inference Terra One / be.storaged press release (pv magazine company news), 19 May 2026
Also publishedInferred: terralayr bundles eight batteries across Germany into a virtual portfolio tolled to Vattenfall (55 MW); trlyr 8 is a terralayr company, but no source names Visbek as one of the eight our inference solarserver, 3 March 2026

From published documents: the owners’, builders’ and optimisers’ own announcements and the trade press, each linked. Where the owner’s power or energy differs from the register’s, both are shown and every figure on this site uses the register’s.

What this page cannot show

Germany publishes no battery’s metered output. On 11 October 2026 we checked the four public sources that might carry it: the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, SMARD, the yearly EEG data and the transmission companies’ redispatch records. None gives the output of any German battery, one by one or as a fleet. So this page cannot say what the battery exported, imported or earned, as Britain’s battery pages do.
