How far along the requests are

Terna sorts every request into five stages. Nearly all of the queue sits in the first four. The last stage, a signed contract, is the one the new rule leaves alone.

The decree of 8 September 2026 ends first come, first served. Capacity is reserved only for a project that holds its permit, and connection solutions already issued lose effect within fifteen days of the regulator’s measures unless the works behind them are validated, authorised or built.

What changed since last month
The first comparison arrives with the October readTerna updates the register monthly and we read it on the 5th. From then on this section, and the “What changed” view of the map, show every municipality whose figure moved: capacity that arrived, capacity that moved between stages, and capacity that left.
  • Capacity that moved to a signed contract
  • Municipalities that entered or left the register
  • The largest rises and falls, by region
What is not published, and why

Terna does not publish the applicant’s name, the size of a single request or the connection point. The decree orders them onto Terna’s Portale Terra; no date is set. The operating fleet by site is not published either, so no ratio of paper to built is drawn for Italy. Requests to the distribution grids are held by the distributors and are not in this register.
