What a megawatt is paid in Norway’s reserve markets is calculated every day and held until Statnett allows it to be shown
Statnett buys FCR, aFRR and mFRR by bidding zone and publishes every price and volume on its Driftsdata pages, with history back to 2013. This site reads all of it every day and works out what one megawatt would have been paid, product by product and zone by zone, by the method it uses for Finland. Statnett states no terms for reuse, so nothing derived from its files is shown yet.
What the page will show once Statnett agrees
For each zone, NO1 to NO5, and each product Statnett publishes, FCR-N, FCR-D up, aFRR up and down, and mFRR up and down, what one megawatt would have been paid each month since the product’s prices begin (FCR-N from May 2019, aFRR from January 2023, mFRR from February 2024), the best hour by hour stack of them, how much of each product Statnett actually buys, and where in Norway a battery would be paid most. A second calculation, written separately, checks every figure to the cent before it is published.
What is never shown
Energy trading, because the day-ahead price is Nord Pool’s and Nord Pool declined permission. FFR and FCR-D down, because Statnett’s Driftsdata files carry neither. What any battery earned, because Statnett publishes the markets and not the bidders.
Statnett Driftsdata, driftsdata.statnett.no, the “Last ned grunndata” files: FCR CM D-1 and D-2, aFRR CM and mFRR CM, aFRR and mFRR activation, and RKOM, read every day into no/driftsdata/ by no/tools/capture_driftsdata.py. The calculation is no/tools/revenue.py.
