Circle area is the megawatts
Ireland and Northern Ireland · EirGrid and ESB Networks lists · EirGrid 5 August 2026 · ESB Networks 1 July 2026
3,858 MW of batteries hold a signed connection agreement on the island and are not yet energised. 340 MW of it is one station, Louth.
EirGrid publishes every generator with a signed transmission connection agreement that is not yet energised, and ESB Networks publishes the same for the distribution grid, with what it has energised. The batteries are read out of those lists: 45 contracted, 6 energised at distribution. The figures are maximum export capacity, which is the connection and never the battery. The Ireland page reads the same lists as tables.
