The market explained in plain English, free, with nothing to sign
This market is full of words that do real work and are never defined. De-rating, gate closure, headroom, a bid that is really a purchase. None of it is difficult once somebody says it plainly. Nobody should have to buy a subscription to find that out.
What is coming
Short written courses, free, in the same plain register. Planned, in order:
- How the connection queue works, and why almost everything in it will not be built
- Reading a capacity market register without being misled by it
- What a de-rating factor is, and why it decides what your battery is worth
- How to read a balancing mechanism record and tell profit from turnover
If you want one of these sooner than the others, say so.
Why we give this away
A market where only the incumbents understand the rules is a market with fewer, worse decisions in it. We would rather compete on the quality of the data than on keeping people confused. The tool is where we earn a living. This is not.
