Wittstock
1.6 MW, 1.6 MWh (1 hours) in Heiligengrabe, Brandenburg, registered as operating since 7 October 2014. Everything on this page is read from Germany’s register of power units and the other published records named beside each fact.
What it is
The register holds this battery as one unit.
| Unit | Register number | MW | MWh | Commissioned | Battery | Grid operator check |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wittstock | SEE962764296498 | 1.6 | 1.6 | 7 October 2014 | Lead acid | checked |
Power is the net power the operator registered, the most the unit may feed into the grid. Energy is the usable capacity of the unit’s installation. A grid operator check marked “checked” means the grid company has confirmed the entry; “under check” means it has not yet. On the large sites we compared, the register’s commissioning date often came months before the owner’s announced start, which suggests it records first energisation.
Who runs it and who owns it
| Operator in the register | Commercial register entry, as the operator gave it | Seat |
|---|---|---|
| Speicherkraftwerk Wittstock 1 GmbH & Co. KG | Amtsgericht Coesfeld HRA 8080 | Dülmen, Nordrhein-Westfalen |
Owner. Upside Group, Dülmen (its owners were not checked), through Upside Invest GmbH & Co. KG, Dülmen (Amtsgericht Coesfeld HRA 7849), contribution 4,846 euros (sole limited partner). Confirmed in the commercial register. Evidence: Current printout (AD) of Amtsgericht Coesfeld HRA 8080, retrieved 11 October 2026. Checked 11 October 2026. Every battery of this family.
The register names the operator, the company that runs the unit. The owner behind it comes from the commercial register (Handelsregister) or the owner’s own publication, as marked. The register number is the one the operator typed in; on 11 October 2026 we found it wrong or missing for 26 of the companies we looked up.
Who trades it and what it is built from
No published source we have found names who trades this battery, who built it or whose cells it uses. Fields we cannot source are left out.

What this page cannot show
Germany publishes no battery’s metered output. On 11 October 2026 we checked the four public sources that might carry it: the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, SMARD, the yearly EEG data and the transmission companies’ redispatch records. None gives the output of any German battery, one by one or as a fleet. So this page cannot say what the battery exported, imported or earned, as Britain’s battery pages do.
